Are Canadians treated differently at inspection as opposed to people from other countries?

CBP Response:

A Citizen of Canada arriving at LAX is inspected in the same manner as any other arriving alien. While exempt from most nonimmigrant visa requirements, a citizen of Canada is still required to meet the same burden of proof as any other alien and to establish his/her admissibility to the satisfaction of the inspecting officer.
