The Program Electronic Review Management System (PERM) is currently unavailable due to the current Federal Government Shutdown. As U.S. Immigration attorneys, JCS Immigration and Visa Law Office, based out of Los Angeles, is concerned of this issue due to the inability to file Labor Certification Applications (LAC) or prevailing wage requests at the PERM website and this will likely affect employers that are facing imminent deadlines, including recruitment expiration dates, relative to their PERM applications. Further, employers who filed PERM applications on Monday, prior to the shutdown, and received the Department of Labor (DOL)’s standard sponsorship questionnaire emails will not be able to complete the questionnaires until operations resume after the shutdown.
