Our U.S. immigration attorneys in Los Angeles were excited to hear the news of the Ninth Circuit Court blocking the ban of issuing driver’s licenses to DACA beneficiaries in Arizona.
Filed on July 7, 2014, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals reversed the district court’s denial of a preliminary injunction and remanded, holding that DACA beneficiaries demonstrated a likelihood of success on the merits of their equal protection claims. The Court also held that the plaintiffs were likely to suffer irreparable harm if they were prohibited from using their EAD cards to obtain driver’s licenses.
