USCIS to Use Secure Laminates on Certain Travel Documents

United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has announced the new inclusion of applying secure laminates to certain forms used to authorize travel into the United States.

Which forms will USCIS apply secure laminates to?

The affected forms are:

  • Form I-797F, Transportation Letter, and
  • Form I-512L, Parole Authorization Letter (commonly known as Advance Parole)

These new secure laminates will provide an extra layer of fraud protection and authenticity. Containing new state-of-the-art technology, USCIS intends to deter counterfeiting, prevent tampering and allow for quick authentication by U.S. Customs Officers.

Previously issued travel documents will still remain valid, unless expired or otherwise noted on the document.
