There have been many recent discussions about U.S. President Barack Obama implementing some level of immigration reform as early as next week. Our Los Angeles immigration attorneys have heard plans of President Obama overhauling United States immigration policy through executive action, including the suspension of deportations for millions of undocumented immigrants.
The expected 10-part plan would expand a policy of deferring action on deportation of illegal immigrants with U.S.-born children, as well as parents of U.S. citizens and Lawful Permanent Residents (“Green Cards” holders). There are expectations that the provisions could allow up to 4.5 million undocumented immigrants remain in the country in a lawful status.
